Free voyage for heavy lift vessels

24.06.2014

(2014-06-24) All the people today active under the company name ARKON Shipping & Projects have since entering the heavy lift segment been responsible for the employment of all Jüngerhans heavy lift vessels.

They will now also assume active chartering for part of this fleet. The expertise in this segment required for this is given due to more than 20 years of business activities in the general cargo and project cargo business. An international and experienced team is responsible for cargo booking and operating the vessels. The concept of employment provides that cargo is primarily contracted on the European continent. But international contacts are of course also attended, especially since
synergies also arise partly from the other charter segments of Minibulker and Deap Sea Bulkers. Herm Jüngerhans explains the strategy: "Whereas in the past, all heavy lift vessels were employed exclusively on time charter contracts, the market position is in this manner to be strengthened Free voyage for heavy lift vessels by providing access to own cargo."

The business focus and its perspective development potential were developed together with Thomas Cord as managing partner of Arkon Shipping & Projects. " The long-term and trusting cooperation with Intermarine as one of our key partners will not be affected thereby," says Herm
Jüngerhans. Development of collaboration in partnership and cooperation is instead planned. The respectively identical vessels, six units of the "D-class" (8,000 dwt) and four units of the "E-Class" (10,000 dwt) together form a revenue pool. Thus creates efficient risk diversification and income
smoothing for all pool vessels.

All vessels are equipped with flexible tween decks and two electro-hydraulic cranes with a
lifting capacity of 250 tons each. They were built in the years 2006 to 2010 by the Portuguese shipyard Estaleiros Navais de Viana do Castelo (ENVC).
