IT policies implemented

As one of the first shipping companies of its size, the Jüngerhans
shipping company has at the beginning of the year implemented a
comprehensive IT management system.
Prior to that, inventory had been taken and documented regarding the IT structure that evolved over many years. Responsibilities and processes were collected and examined and ultimately included in various documents and guidelines. Among other things, a binding IT user policy was developed and presented to our employees for better understanding. "It was us not about reinventing the wheel," said Managing Director Herm Jüngerhans about the procedure, "but since we have for many years dealt with ISM and recently also with OCIMF and we have for many years also been ISO certified, this was a logical step for us." An already existing IT contingency plan was in the course revised and updated.
A redundant server and network architecture has in recent years been implemented which can guarantee a high level of operational reliability. Certification according to ISO 27001 shall be pursued in the medium term. The IT of the shipping company and the IT equipment of the vessels are centrally managed by the administrator Hermann Wermes.
