Refinancing successfully implemented

10.08.2021

The two vessels were built at the Roland shipyard in Berne at the river Weser and originally financed by the Deutsche Bank. A few years ago, the two loans had been sold to a financial investor who was now aiming to terminate the financing.

The transaction, the parameters of which were negotiated and agreed several weeks ago, has now been implemented through a new ships mortgage loan and new equity from the shareholders. In view of the significant increase in charter rates on the container market since then, this transaction can be regarded as a very great success.

With these two vessels, the last two ships of the Jüngerhans fleet could now also be successfully refinanced. „The entire fleet is economically very healthy again“ said Stefan Jüngerhans, pleased about the successful conclusion of the transaction. He thanked the regional banks and the consultants for the good cooperation, but above all the shareholders for the continued trust in the market and the shipping company.

The very positive development on the container market clearly exceeds expectations. „Even in our optimistic scenarios, we did not foresee such rate increases. And they would probably have been described as not serious,“ comments Herm Jüngerhans. This is all the more gratifying because the shareholders who have been suffering for ten years now have positive prospects of a return on equity.
